Varanasi, India- October 27

Saurabgh, my guide, and I set out on the late side today to walk the ghats I hadn't been to, and to see something at 3pm that he promised would be amazing. We go there at 3 and it didn't start till 5 (like Israeli time), lasted about 5 minutes.......some pictures below.

The boats docked from end to end at ghats are all very old. My guess is that they were painted with bright colors that have faded over time. The wood is worn,  and they look beautiful to me. Took a hundred pictures of them today. By the way there are 84 ghats that stretch about 7km along the Ganges.

Everyone here loves to have his picture taken

While the bulls that roam the streets (and you'll noticed Ive posted very few if any pictures of them - not a pretty sight) are owned by no one, these water buffalos are owned by this man who is washing  and massaging them. At home we would take them to be groomed.

I found the light here to be particularly beautiful. Also the colors, very simple but beautiful. I found it to look peaceful.

Love this image, the expression of the boy on the left, so melancholy.

Heres the main event. This god, whose name I don't remember is riding on the head of the cobra, which is a very important moment for the Hindus.

Had to visit the local bakeries, of course. Two bakeries in Varanasi, this is one, name Kshmeer Sagar. Sweets not at all like you would find in the states.

They do all the baking above the bakery.
