Annapurna Region, Nepal - October 31st

Woke up early, ate breakfast, good food, and left The Sanctuary Lodge where we had spent the first night. Climbed almost the entire day. And i mean climbed - it was steep. About 5 hours worth. Most physically grueling day of my life. If i could have quit half way i would have but that wasn't an option. Made several stops in little villages and at a school. Arrived at the next lodge about 3:30. At every lodge they have 'Happy Hour" at 6 before dinner.....

There are mules everywhere (and what they leave behind). They are used to haul building materials and food up and down the mountains. Usually 6 or 7 in a group. A man behind them with a small whip urging them to go....
